The Delaware Veterans Home boasts a strong team with deep and varied medical expertise. This team includes an on-site Medical Director, two Advanced Practice Nurses, a Wound Care/Infection Control Nurse, a Dietician, and a visiting psychiatrist. Additionally, your loved one will also have the added security on on-site, 24-hour personal assistance from our nursing team led by our Director of Nursing. This care includes monitoring of all medication usage as well as other healthcare measures determined necessary by the medical team.

Our occupational therapists are skilled in helping residents achieve the highest possible levels of independence. Programs are developed after a careful physical and functional needs assessment and are designed to reduce limitations and expand capabilities.
 

Speech Therapy

Our speech-language pathologists work to improve our residents’ articulation of words, while addressing communication and cognitive needs. Our speech-language pathologists also evaluate and treat swallowing disorders and make recommendations for safe diets.
